Outreach

The lab has participated in GSSE since 2021, helping high-school students experience research, instrumentation, and materials science.

The lab mentors undergraduate senior design teams on projects involving instrumentation, thin films, electrospinning, coatings, and magnetic high-entropy materials.

An in-development K–12 and public outreach program built around exciting science demonstrations, including ferrofluids, aerogels, unusual materials, and high-voltage demonstrations.

The group has participated in public science communication activities aimed at making science accessible to broader audiences.
As part of research into magnetoreception in bees and wasps, the lab maintains a curated insect specimen collection assembled through collaborators and museum loans. The collection is supported by a formal management plan and digitized specimen catalogue.
