MSE 410/576: Theory and Processing of Conventional and Nano-Structured Devices

A senior/graduate elective covering vacuum systems, deposition, lithography, microscopy, electronic and magnetic measurements, spectroscopy, neutrons, and X-rays.

A foundational course introducing materials structure, properties, processing, and performance.

Senior design

The lab has mentored UTK Materials Science senior design teams on projects involving UHV thermal evaporation, electrospinning for respirator applications, magnetic high-entropy alloy characterization, and thin-film coatings inside cylindrical semiconductor detector components.
